What is the format of Write it Right? There are three formats;. These are, half day (2 1/2 hours) , full-day (8 hours, including lunch and coffee breaks) and two-day (2 x 8 hours, including lunches and coffee breaks). Each format mixes lectures and exercises. For the two longer formats, participants must submit prior to the workshop a two-page draft paper on their research. Is it possible to write about my research in two pages?Yes. We have reviewed plenty of two-page papers on many subjects that clearly describe the authors aim, results, and conclusions. So give it a try. Can I participate without submitting a draft? No. No draft == no workshop. The draft manuscript is an exercise in itself and is used for several exercises during the workshop. Without the draft you will not get the full benefit from the workshop. What should my draft look like? The draft should explain your research as clearly as possible in two pages. We suggest that you include an introduction paragraph, some results, discussion, and a conclusions paragraph. The draft must not be a complete paper or a stripped down version of an existing paper. My draft is longer than two pages, what should I do?Shorten it until it is not longer than two pages. My draft isn't ready yet. Can I submit it later? No. We review all submissions before the workshop begins. The deadline gives us only a few days to review thirty drafts. Therefore, we cannot grant an extension on the submission deadline. I don't know how to make a PDF file. Can I submit another file? No. If you don't know how to make a PDF file, then go and learn. It's a cruel world out there for people who cannot make PDF files. There are various PDF-making programs you can download. We recommend that you obtain a legal copy of Adobe PDFwriter. It costs only € 80. This pdf conversion website is also adequate for most cases. Where do the "Writing tips" come from?A portion of the content displayed in the "Writing Tips" sidebox was adapted from the Writing tips page of the Policy Library at the University of Minnesota in the US, as well as other online sources. | Skip Login and RegistrationLogin and Registration If you want to register for a workshop, or if you're already registered, click here to log in.
